The 2014-2015 school year at Foothill Christian School in Glendora, CA marked the first that there would be two teams of youth and adults visiting El Tamarindo in the Dominican Republic.
The first group of 8th graders and adult chaperones went for a week of service during Thanksgiving, as had been done since 2009, and fed over 600 people a turkey lunch on Thursday. The second embarked on the inaugural January trip where they went to Azua for a day of performing songs and handing out bags of food, school supplies, and toiletries.
Throughout the week, both groups worked with Manny and Margarita Mota to hold regular events which included an afternoon of cafecito and self-care packages for the elderly women of the community in conjunction with organizing daily meals and giveaways.
