About Motas Faces

“ We have been blessed so richly by being able to create a true bond between those that generously share their goods and resources, with those that have the biggest needs. The smiles and the heartwarming looks in their eyes make it all worth it. "

Our primary mission is to help the children of the Domican Republic

At Mota's Faces, our primary mission is to help the children of the Domican Republic by gathering gently- used school uniforms, shoes, school supplies, toiletries, and meals and distributing these items where they are most needed. We also seek to engage others to join us in our mission by donating valuable resources that would allow us to continue our vital and ongoing work.

Our primary distribution point is the Field of Dreams Complex in the El Tamarindo community of Santo Domingo. This forty acre complex is supervised by Alina's grandparents, baseball legend Manny Mota and his wife Margarita, who have been developing services for this community for over twenty years.

A Brief Look at Our History

We have been on a mission to help the children of the Dominican Republic since 2012. Here are a couple of our favorite moments.

Our Founder

Mota's Faces founder Alina Mota, at age 5, assisting during Thanksgiving Holiday distribution of goods, toys, clothing, and food. Learning about sharing her blessings with the children and lending an ear to their many needs. An inspiring trip for her. Because of these encounters, she also foresaw the opportunity to connect and assist orphanages, which led to our charity expanding to the small city of La Romana, where we have supported "Hogar Betesda" with yearly visits, food, party celebrations, and basic needs.

Student Volunteers

Proud grandfather Manny welcomes a new Foothill Christian School group of volunteers. For 10 years now, the school's youngsters, teachers, and parents have traveled from Los Angeles to Santo Domingo, giving up their Thanksgiving Holiday to serve abroad. The entire community of El Tamarindo is transformed when these wonderful volunteers are in action. Trips have expanded into grandmother Margarita's hometown of Azua.

Family Tradition

Our son Joey and his wife Bianca Mota, a nurse, were inspired to kick-start a project for our grandson Luke before he was born. So that is how "Luklínika" got started, and it now provides nursing/medical assistance for numerous children and senior citizens. Manny and Maragarita are quite proud of their great-grandson as he keeps the family tradition going.

Dia de Reyes

The always popular and heavily-attended toy giveaway "Dia de Reyes" (Epiphany), or "Three Kings Day", a Mota family tradition for over 50 years, hosted by the Manny Mota International Foundation. Happy children, happy parents, and certainly, a fulfilling yearly accomplishment, thanks to the generosity of so many of you.
