Manny and Margarita Mota, "abuelo and abuela" at it again. Today, they were blessed to have distributed toys to well-over 1,200 children in total. This tradition dates back to the early 1970's when the Mota residence served as the headquarters and people started lining up in front of the property around 4am. The joy in the faces of the children and of their parents was extremely gratifying.
Our deepest gratitude and appreciation goes out to MLB star and current New York Yankees player Alex Rodriguez for his "Dia de Reyes" donation to Motas Faces. Rodriguez will also host a large group of little leaguers to a Dominican Winter League Baseball game, a luxury that these children and their families simply cannot afford. They will be enjoying a traditional rivalry game between Licey and Escogido next week. A-Rod will provide two buses for transportation plus meals for each of his guests. Thanks to the generosity of Rodriguez and our other wonderful donors, we're kicking off the new year to a promising start and because of this, our daily operations along with special celebrations like today can continue to flourish!
